Monsters of MMA #1 is Out!

I guess the picture above says it all - I'm waiting to get copies back from the printers but I am very psyched to have a copy of MoMMA in my grubby hands. Get your printed copy before I even get one!

 Working on MoMMA and it's oodles of fun as always. Here's a print I just did exclusively for the upcoming Wizard World Convention in Philly from June 17-19th - it's gonna be big!

Last piece of business is to address the survey on Monsters of MMA between Croc Lesnar vs. Jaguar Dos Santos. The poll is currently tied with 110 votes. Only four days left to vote. What are you waiting for, slacker? CAST YOUR VOTE NOW!!!

Guest artist renditions for MoMMA

Here's some more incredible versions of the many characters of Monsters of MMA. Clockwise from top left is John Still's rendition of Croc Lesnar, Mark Cage's rendition of Chuck Li-Hell, Mike Creighton's rendition of Jaguar Dos Santo, and last but definitely not least is Jef Kolman's gory rendition of Bas Rotten. Once again big thanks to these guys and I strongly urge you all to check out their excellent artwork.

I have to once again thank these awesome artists for contributing their own renditions of the many characters from Monsters of MMA. Clockwise from top left is David Jablow's rendition of Cyborg Santos, Doug Slack's rendition of Stank Abbott, Chris Trefz's rendition of Anderson Arachnid, and Jim Laplante's rendition of Kimbo Spliced (looking very studious by the way). Monsters of MMA coverage

Things are busy as always - couple days ago MMA legend Bas Rutten checked out my Monsters of MMA comic and retweeted it and the website has been booming ever since. I'll definitely have to use his "freaking awesome" quote for the comic. Also, the website Optical Sloth did a review of the first issue with many good things to say which I am extremely thankful for. Several artists have contributed their own renditions of my monsters and I will be sure to post them up soon.

MMA art by John Ozga

Check out some mixed martial arts work by abstract artist John Ozga. His subject matter ranges from religious to animals to anything he currently digs and I'm currently trying to convince him to do a series on MMA but getting to see this piece is way better than nothing. Check out a ton of other artwork as well as his interviews with other artists on his site at www.abstageation.com

MONSTERS OF MMA #2

While working on First Fight #3, I am also creating another edition of Monsters of MMA and I have a poll up for people to vote and choose who should win the fight. In the spirit of the new Ultimate Fighter series I thought a match up between Croc Lesnar vs. Jaguar Dos Santos would be appropriate. Last month alone the site received over 700 hits but no one seems to see the poll so I went and put a second poll up on Facebook - please cast your vote and be democratic!
